There will come a point in time where life and destiny will require everything within you.  Operating in the genre known as Holy Hip Hop, these young men have surrendered their lives to follow hard after Christ Jesus.  This Atlanta based ministry consists of four members:  LeAndre “Phisha” Harris, Jr.,  Roderick “Big Redd –AKA- Pow’r” Harris , Arthur “Sevon” Simmons, Jr. and D’Andre”Ignite-US ” Green.

Ranging from ages 23-27, this group has developed a style of ministry that has and is continuing to destroy the barriers of traditional praise and worship.  Under the anointing of God, these young men have become a bold, non-compromising voice, dedicating their lives to the spreading of God’s message of deliverance, repentance and salvation.

This group originated in 1993 primarily as a seven-artist ministry performing under the name of Y.D.C., Young Disciples of Christ.  However, the name was changed to Young Determined Christians a year later.  It was during that time the group and name went through a transformation, resurfacing in 1996 with the four members known today as GodSunz.

These young men have traveled throughout the nation on their mission for Christ.  Teaming up with artists in Milwaukee, Houston, and Atlanta’s own, God has used their style to generate praise never before seen in today’s youth.  In September of 2000, GodSunz were nominated and received the award for Holy Hip Hop Artist of the Year, given by the Atlanta Gospel Choice Awards.  This group has been the featured artist for both the 2000 and 2001 Holy Hip Hop Showcase.  And now this group is up for recipient of yet another award, this time given by the Holy Hip-Hop Awards, for their outstanding artistic presentation.

Outside of the gospel arena, this group has shared the stage with well-known artists such as Ludacris, JaRule, Run DMC, Xibit, and the Cash Money Millionaires becoming the first gospel hip-hop artists to perform in front of thousands at Atlanta’s best known hip- hop and R&B station 97.5’s annual Birthday Bash.

These young men recognize and accept the vision God has given them for their ministry.  Their goal is to be amongst the major markets with the same promotional approach as Def Jam or Cash Money would put behind a rap group.  BET, MTV, Vibe, Source, XXL, Hot 107.9, V103, these are only the tip of the iceberg of which this group would like to see their ministry grow to.  These young men have received an awesome vision.  God Sunz and understand that to whom much is given much is required. They look forward to taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth, along with their Blood Shed Ent. Family they look forward to representing the "Blood Stained Banner".

Anybody who wants something bad enough will work hard to get it.  That is exactly what these young men have done.  They are no strangers to hard work.  They are no strangers to pain.  And they are definitely no strangers to victory.  This group has been tried by fire. And has been within that fire they have matured . . . as men, as artists, as ministers. GodSunz, four anointed, bold, and dedicated men of God, chosen.

Our debut albulm "Hood Action" is a project of labor and love.  In this project you will feel the emotion of 4 young men that have a heart for out reach ministry. The title cut "Hood Action" tells the story of people that are in the hood that have lost hope. We feel this project will be used to bring hope into hopeless situation and encourage our generation to dream and reach for something better than the street life.
