Shadow was born, William Cole Mize on July 23, 1985 in Snelleville GA. Shadow showed an interest in music at a very young age as a toddler. Shadow began to persue his musical interest by playing alto saxaphone in the school band from 3rd through 8th grade. As he got older, he began to write lyrics as early as the 6th grade. He would write these on scraps of paper, napkins, or even chewing gum wrappers while sitting in church.
Shadow realized early, since he was in the south in a rural area, and outside the Atlanta metro area, that he would have to be independent. He began to make his own beats, continued to write his own lyrics, and turned a portion of his bedroom into a recording studio.

 

All the equipment he used, was purchased from funds he earned working. Shadow's demo was recorded at Patchwerk studios in Atlanta GA, his music promotes positive messages, self reflection, and encouragement. If you listen closely, you may hear biblical references, because he was raised in a Christian home, and he tried to impart some positive messages from his teachings.

 

Shadow is a complete artist with his musical talents, that is only matched by his personality.
